How The Ocean Connects Us: A Surf Trip With Mr Mikey February | MR PORTER

To celebrate our new Gone Surfin’ capsule collection, South African surf phenom Mr Mikey February — one of the most uniquely stylish performers on the professional tour — took MR PORTER on a trip to explore the sights, the styles, flavours and waves of Sayulita, Mexico. As he describes in the video, Mr February thinks of each surf spot he visits as possessing its own terroir, a culture that is best experienced through the sport and its camaraderie. “I've experienced a lot of places through meeting people in the water, the people who introduce you to the whole package,” he says. “You only feel like you have arrived ready when you step into the water.”
