About Your Instructor
Denson is an Assistant Professor of Jazz Bass at the University of Utah and is also one of the most sought-after freelance instructors in the Salt Lake City, UT metro area.

Denson earned his Master's of Music Performance Classical/Jazz Degree from Brigham Young University, and his Doctoral of Musical Arts from the University of Utah.

As a bassist, he has skills in an abundance of music styles, and has performed as a professional playing electric bass, acoustic jazz, and classical double bass throughout Europe and parts of Asia.

He has performed with jazz greats including Bob Mintzer, Bob Berg, and Randy Brecker. As a classical musician, has recorded for ESPN, ABC, NBC television, DreamWorks Pictures, and LDS motion pictures, and performed solo bass repertoire with the Honolulu Symphony.
