Is ths offspring distribution the distribution of the Y_1, t-1 then? Because we found the inner PGF to be the one of the distribution of the individual elements that we sum, and since they are all iid we may pick the first one. But why X_0 ? is X_0 simply the name of the distribution of the Y's ?
