This may offend you if you are a music therapist...

Well here I am on the hunt for the profession my natural music skills can fit with.  Watching all these you tube videos looks similar to my humble experiences in rest homes, group homes, day programs, births, weddings, political events, church services, funerals etc.  But somehow it is depressing and draining working in some of these places.  Maybe because I was doing to make money or make a point.  I wish I felt like this was my calling.  How do I know?

Wow, I never really thought about this in that perspective. It makes so much sense though, as (especially) a health care professional you would want to be more concerned and understanding of others and their needs. With that being said, you would want to do your BEST in providing whatever it is that they desire and need. I am not a Music Therapist, but a Music Therapist major. Most of the time when I tell people what my major is, they would either ask me "what is music therapy", "how can you help people through music therapy", or don't even say anything afterwards. To be honest, it is kind of discouraging and it makes me question myself of whether or not I should even pursue Music Therapy, but I must remember that what I am doing CAN help change lives for the better just like with any other profession out there. Thank you so much for this video!
