The M157 timing chain issue was fixed in production from 2013 when both the upgraded chain and check valve style tensioner was fitted. Any timing chain issues on 13 on engines is from lack of service / oil changes and not a common fault. (Actually an issue with most late model chain driven cam cars if you neglect them)

5:33 is the most replayed part of this video. 2013 engine is when they fixed the intercooler issue (main suspect for engine catastrophe). Regarding the wagon comparison, the pre-lift 2013 front looks much more aggressive with its sharp, symmetrical lines. Do what you will with this information.

Their are a few rare options 14-16 models to get is the carbon edition for $15k and B&O sound for $5k which is well worth spending for. Great vid and love them AMG engine that is hand built to perfection.

Make sure to get a car that has the updated timing chain if buying a 5.5 biturbo. (2013 & up).
