This is true. My experience is that men don't look for efficiency, they look for the laziest way possible to do something and then get mad at me when it doesn't work out. They tuned out my suggestions only to find out I was right. So, I stop making suggestions and they get mad at me for that too but I refuse to fix other people's screw ups when it could have been done right the first time. It's my response to their inefficiency but they're so egotistical that many of them just say I'm wrong or ignore me to make themselves feel better anyway. It's pathetic. I work for myself now.

Oh man! This is my entire work history. I have story after story of men feeling threatened, both by their own ego and the whining females who I wouldn’t entertain, as well as females bosses, managers, whatever, who found some lame reason to let me go. And it always boiled down to the fact that I wouldn’t engage in the gossip or political culture and I got everything done fast, efficiently and proper. They were just jealous. I knew it, they knew it. I was always seen as a threat and yet, I was usually up into supervisory or mid management level before the games started. 😒😑

Mostly to women. As a programmer, I’ve worked mainly with men and they’ve always treated me as a regular team member. With women, they think my independent ways are me being rude, but with men they accept it because they’re “IT nerds”.

This is total opposite to my workplace experiences, with the exception of a few numbskulls you’ll find anywhere. It’s usually women in the workplace that don’t make the effort to work with me. Most men appreciate my efficiency and organization.

I don’t think it’s that we’re not concerned about the feelings of others. But if there is a more sensible way of doing things, I’d hope others would have the maturity to take that on board. I don’t really get why feelings need to come into it. If someone shows me a more efficient way of doing something, I really appreciate it so it’s confusing to me why someone would get hurt feelings if you show them a better way of doing something.

Yep, had this in a recent role, had to leave as I just couldn’t work with people that weren’t motivated to give 💯 like I was giving. I find small talk boring especially if there’s work that needs doing.
