Just realised the issue with JCal's interview technique (and perhaps it's subconscious to him and just muscle): he will tend to interject as someone is speaking (often at the worst time), sometimes just to say 'explain that to the audience' and the speaker does so, but afterwards JCal then moves to his next point and the original point the speaker was on is never continued. It's really evident particularly when he's sitting there wanting to interject and make his own point as he does with Sacks on the All In Pod. Interject less and do so strategically when you must. Let the speaker you've invited on.. speak. That's why they're there and we're here to listen.

Jcal literally never lets Tim finish his thoughts. How does Tim’s view of AI differ now vs 2015? We don’t know bc Jcal interrupted. Would love to hear Tim speak uninterrupted. Instead, Jcal asks question and then interrupts 20 seconds later just as Tim is getting warmed up.

Everyone is complaining in the comments about Jason’s interrupting the other guy over and over and I didn’t even notice it …. Bc I think I’m used to him now …

Agree that jcal tends to interrupt and lose the flow of thoughts from interviewees. Nevertheless, at least he is prepared to have a go at difficult subjects, as evidenced in this interview. Well worth the listen.
