Justin Gaethje was the next in title contention heading to his match against holloway at ufc 300, many fans and analysts pointed out that this fight was out of place and didn't make sense that Gaethje should risk his position when he's the next in line, but it didn't make sense for him to wait it out considering the reputation he's been building during his whole career and especially after his last bout against poirier that made him stand out as the reigning BMF champion, which means that he should face any challenge whenever presented.
out of all the scenarios that this fight could have played out, the one that happened was exactly the worst for Gaethje and needless to say the best for Holloway, and that is the reality of this game, particularly when you get two guys from that cloth fighting for that kind of belt, they present two sides of the same coin where one of them reaches the highest of the highs while the other goes to the lowest in Gaethje, and many are now wondering what's next for him, wether he is to make the best of what's left in his career, or if he might be able to put himself back in that lightweight title picture.

For the fans who have been in love with the madness of MMA. These fighters chasing there dreams made me so happy to cheer for them since I was in middle school. So many generations of happyness sadness and every emotion in between. Justin is a man of few words, but he only spills poetry. I remember when he was asked if Tony doing a double weight cut had anything to do with his win. Justin replied in the most respectful way "IDK but i know it would have affected me" (doing what Tony did)
Tony always tried to give the FANS not the UFC the best show. Tony knew his name value and he didnt want that card to suffer without him. The moment Tony decided to keep the show running Justin took the show on the road and left him behind
Its sad to see so many 155ers get so close to the stars but fall short. Both of them were interm champs. But that doesnt mean anything to them. Islam needs to be more active so we can keep the show moving for everyone.

He was happy for a second for max, then realized Justin was the one of the floor unconscious. Idc what happens next at LW, but I hope Gaethje gets his title shot before he retires.
