The caliper hold down brackets have tabs in the center that when tightened down stop the inner pad from rattiling

Excellent camera work and lighting. Also, I like the way that the process is not oversimplified - obstacles encountered along the way are included as a normal part of the job, rather than being edited out.

I was taught to pack a bearing by putting a lump of grease in the palm of your hand and scraping the edge of the bearing across your palm repeatedly around the entire bearing edge. Always worked well for me.

You have to appreciate the work that goes into making these things happen.

One of the many reasons I enjoy your videos is due to the real life experiences you film. Portions are not cut out to move things along, you deal with situations as they happen and address accordingly. Thank you!!

Im 18 and i got and still have a 1970 AMC Javelin as my first car. It came from factory with 4 wheel manual drum brakes. Even at my young age i still care about stopping easily, i put 4 piston wilwood brakes in the front along with a power brake booster and the car stops way better now. The 1, 000 dollars for brakes was worth it for sure

I kept saying to myself release the tension on that torsion bar on that passenger side and those 2 lower bolts will come right out. Noticed when the bolts came out? The torsion bar tension had been backed off. 👍👍

Sorry guys, you overtightened the spindle nut. Torque down, spin rotor, retorque, back off to 1st opening, insert cotter pin

Great job! These kind of jobs never go as planned and they is always plenty of trial and error, but the two of you made it look easy!

another trick to greasing bearings is fill a zip lock bag with the grease ten drop the bearing into the bag zip up the bag and its all set to squeeze the grease into the bearing by hand.

Front disc brakes are a necessity on a muscle car. I was almost killed as a kid by drum brake fade. My Chevelle needed a total restoration, so discs went on. I'm very happy with the results.

Hi Nick I did one using 73 New Yorker as a donor (I still have the radiator in my 92 Dakota) I kept the drum master cylinder and was going to install a manual proportioning valve but before I did that I switched to smaller wheel cylinders on the rear.
Worked great, never missed the power brakes Going down hill in snow the fronts would lock up first (chains on rear) so I used the parking brake holding the release to keep my steering 15 inch wheels required I used PC wheels and tires (you could get tires from the CHP as they did not fix flats, just sold off the tires had to buy a lot and throw away the run flats but still a good ending for speed rated tires
