Which One Should You BUY? Tesla Cybertruck or Rivian R1T

Rivian is nature. They also recently updated the Rivian R1T in 2024 with a refresh design, bettery miles, cooler interior, and dynamic glass roof. However, this one is the previous generation R1T. Cybertruck is technology. It just came out and you either hate it or love it. I've driven both. I've reviewed both. Which one should you buy? It all depends on your needs.

I'm finding it interesting that when the Cybertruck released, there were the few fans and a lot of bashers on it. Now? It seems like it's coming full circle and there's a lot of fans with only a few bashers on it. Myself? I think the Cybertruck is awesome and I wish I was able to get one. I may not be able to take it out into the middle of the Mojave desert, etc, but it's built to survive the concrete jungles of the US and the failing road infrastructures!

With that said, I think you can't go wrong with either of these vehicles. Both are unique and functional. Also, both are American automotive companies!

I have owned Teslas since 2018. Got my R1T last month. Super happy with Rivian.

I would rather have the Rivian in any model over the CyberTruck. It looks worth the money inside and out.

I would buy a cybertruck. Our reserved parking is so tight, it would drive my co-workers insane. It would make me chuckle all day long. All. Day. Long.

Rivian please. We have 2 x Model 3s in the family but the CT is a bit underdeveloped at this stage. Maybe version 2?

You realize Rivian has more charging options than Tesla right? Rivian can use Tesla network, plus CCS public AND Rivian adventure network.

@9:51 actually the Cybertruck is lighter than the R1T, despite it being larger.

The powered tonneau has been redesigned and is available to configure on new models. Current owners are getting their old tonneaus replaced with the new ones and Rivian has stated the new powered tonneau will be available in the gear shop soon for installation on Rivians that were purchased without a powered tonneau.

I recently saw a video of a Cybertruck getting side swiped by a Ford Mustang and the only thing damaged was the wrap. Comparing that to the multiple 40k repair estimates I've seen on Rivians with minor rear end damage, I'll have go with the Cybertruck.

Cybertruck ALLL DAY! Tesla infrastructure from state to state travel is second to none. Tesla phone app, sentry mode, and being able to review what’s around outside before getting into the car is NICE at night- if working late hours.

Rivian because its looks like a real truck

Good video. Just a few things not mentioned about the Riv (which is heavier by the way making the regen even more impressive). The water fording height is also a significant difference for trucks that are purported ‘beasts’…the Rivian can for much deeper water with zero setup time unlike the CT which needs several minutes before it its water to…ummm…prepare?

Cybertruck is great offroad, better build quality. The riven just feels like toy in comparison.

I do not have an issue with the Cybertruck. I just don’t like all the issues the Cybertruck has. Both trucks are great on paper.
