I’m a newbie to this archery elk hunting. Just completed my third year and no elk yet but I will never give up. I’m 55 and feeling Father Time on my knees, ankles, and back. Definitely gotta get something done on my right knee before I head back out. With that said I’ve researched and dialed my gear down to what I have now & by no means am I done. I’ve learned a lot by Cliff Gray & several others & would love to suggest a few things if that’s ok? I carry the garmin in reach mini 2, one battery bank, the GRAYL water filter, Peak Refuel meals, BRG stove with one 750ml titanium cup and titanium long spork, Sitka sleeping bag, use my puffy for a pillow, Helinox chair, Sitka rain gear, Crispi boots with hallow alpaca socks, bic lighter, striker, Bigfoot fire starter, the only bags I carry is zip lock bags to compartmentalize small things, everything else gets stuffed into the pack to fill all air pockets, Warbonnet hammock system or my ultralight tent with pad. I make sure I’m consuming at least 3k calories a day for 5 days, water bladder & plastic Nalgene bottle.

Man, thank you for this video. I wish more people made videos like this and "how to get started" with tags. It's so confusing. I'm out east and don't know a single person that elk hunts, but I'm the kind of guy that wants to make stuff happen. BTW, Who in the world would get that Gerber Knife and give it back? Haha that's an awesome gift!
