I have 10 hens. My rooster died a few months ago and egg production has dropped by about 50%. Wasn’t certain if there’s a correlation or not, I’m still pretty new to this.

Thanks for the clarification, so basically the unfertilized egg the hen lays daily without any hormones ?, so it is the natural process and nature has created this process to provide the unfertilized egg for the purpose of eating as there is no other use of unfertilized also it doesn't become to baby chick, so created it for the purpose of eating otherwise if its not use in eating it become spoiled over the time ? So this egg is made by nature to be eaten, there is no harm in it that if people eat this egg and it is also a vegetarian egg then there is no life in it ? so people who eat unfertilized egg don't do any cruelty with animals life ?

That being said, I remember reading somewhere that when there is a rooster present among the hens, that the hens lay more eggs. I wonder is this true?
