The baby oil on cloth to dust might pick up more of the diet and hold to the cloth, but the oil left behind on the furniture will be a dust magnet, it will all settle there.

A guy's perspective on baby oil.

Cleans and prevents rust on guitar strings. Use in a pinch for the same purpose on firearms and carbon steel knives.
However, guys are not fond of the smell. We prefer something less, um...babylike. 😎
