As true as this is, we have to keep in mind another thing:

The meat that people consume are from breeds of poultry/pig/cattle that are meant to be slaughtered for meat. For example, in poultry (Sorry, this is one of the studies that stuck in my head from the poultry 4-H group), if you don’t kill them in the certain number of months, their organs will start to shut down, causing them more pain. This will continue for about a week, and you still end up with a dead bird on your hands. With pigs and cattle (I believe, once again, much less information on these topics) while they don’t die, you suddenly have this 100lb to 500lb animal on your hands, and very few people will take the animal as a pet, since it was meant to be meat.

This is not an attack on Vegans or anything! It’s just something we all have to keep in mind.

Imposing your food preferences on people is no different than imposing religious beliefs. You can’t force people to only eat what you approve of. That’s culturally insensitive and just ignorant.
