That disarm is masterful, you can see how much Kratos has truly learned and put control into his combat. That is a massive improvement from how wild he was in the previous trilogy.

Both Kratos and Tyr are gods of war- but war is more than blood and carnage; it's about protecting your home and fighting for a worthy cause. It's also about knowing when to quit when you've succeeded, not endlessly satisfying bloodlust and supreme conquest. Kratos and Tyr have both learned only to fight when absolutely necessary, and only for justice, peace and order.

I did this part with Atreus instead of Freya. It's cool that Kratos has different dialogues that say similar things, depending on if you're with Freya or Atreus.

"I killed an Elf of great importance". If you're with Atreus, Kratos says something like "remember when we killed the Elf king? Yeah, let's not do that again."

part of what I love about Kratos is his rage. But seeing him have this much control over it in this game is actually fuckin cool

You can definitely see the foundations for Kratos becoming a god worthy of worship. Leading the resistance at Ragnarök, sending Loki off to bring the Jötnar back, giving his enemies a chance to redeem themselves, and giving the people access to knowledge that would otherwise be forbidden.

Because Kratos learns from his mistakes
