Why Shifu did NOT want Po to be Dragon Warrior #kungfupanda

also in Kung Fu Panda 3, we saw that Master Oogway have been trained by a Panda and how brave they are (Oogway probably even know Po when he was a Baby)

The main reason shifu didn't like Po being the dragon warrior is because he thought he was unworthy due to the fact that he was fat and had any kung fu skills

Tigeress and Po (indirectly) were the ones who assembled the Furious Five 10 years before Kung Fu panda 1 so Shifu actually trained Tigeress and Tai Lung, the others only trained with Tigeress

Because Shifu was arrogant about the process tbh. He felt like he should choose who the next Dragon Warrior was, hence why he basically promised the position to Tai Lung and then later to the Furious Five. He even tells the Furious Five that they “deserve” it and that he’ll make sure that one of them becomes the Dragon Warrior once he has gotten Po to quit.

Shifu always felt like his students were entitled to be the Dragon Warrior, and he had to let this concept go in the first movie. He had to let go of the past and open his heart and mind to something new, as Tai Lung failed to do.

maybe its because oogway was choose po because he knows hes part of the pandas that saved

Atctually he didn't want to train furious five, he only trained Tiggress and the rest of them was just sent by universe

Well he did get his dream, he did train the dragon warrior. Thats probably why he felt at peace after Po defeated Tai Lung.

I think is a bit because of his worry about Tai Lung returning and when chooses someone that doenst know ''nothing'' about Kung Fu he didn't Wanted to train Po to fight Someone with more Kung Fu experience and high skill like Tai Lung
