I don't understand how any of these loosen the fabric away from the zipper. Mine is on the small pocket of a bag. Too small to use my hand to pull it free. So oiling the teeth or graphiting the teeth outside just makes the outside messy and the zipper still munches the cloth inside

Oh my god! I was sceptical. Had a scarf totally caught in the zip of my bag. Spent half an hour on it and it wouldn’t budge. Put a bit of olive oil on the end of my finger, rubbed on the open zip and it closed first try!!! Then I could wiggle the scarf from the closed teeth. Wish I’d known about this before!
