My Dad was a truck driver and the most hard working man I've ever known. Busted his butt to give us everything we ever wanted. I remember him taking me to the movie theater to go see this movie when it first came out. He died a few years back and every time I watch this movie I cry like a baby lol This was kind of like "our" movie.

I`m 43 and Stallone`s movies are the reason i started working out in 2006 and stayed fit ever since.

Only Stallone could make a film about Armwrestling with this much soul, heart, and serious intensity.

Watched all of Stallone's movies with my dad. No one brings father and son together like Sly.

Cannot explain how much I loved this movie in 1987 when I was thirteen. Saw it in the theater (more than once), bought the soundtrack, bought the novelization...

Even though he lost. Hurley took it like a man! Both respected each other at the end.

My father showed me this movie 25 years ago and I showed my sons this movie 10 years ago and my sons will show their sons this movie one day...it’s just a very good example of it’s never too late to be a good father and even better a good man

This movie is considered as one of the worst sly's movies. And I swear it's better than 95% of the movies that come out these days

When you grow up as fatherless son, then have one of your own. Can’t help but shead a tear from this scene every time.

If you don't get emotional over this final scene, especially with Sly hugging his son tightly then you have no soul...AWESOME!!

My Grandparents are in that crowd. They were in Vegas, walking past, and they saw a sign saying “extras needed for movie” it was Over the Top. Gramps would sometimes joke about how they’d “starred in a huge Hollywood movie” when you can’t even see them. Lol

This is so under rated. And bull is a great antagonist. He did amazing he was really really scary and overwhelming. He really felt like an unbeatable monster.

I like how despite all his trash talk before and during the match, Bull still nods respect and holds up Hawk's hand when Hawk wins.

4:30 That final “Push” is always the most exhilarating moment! That’s the hallmark of Stallone’s movies!
They’re about overcoming seemly impossible challenges!

Underrated 80s film. This and Cobra are two of Stallone's good ones from Cannon films.

This scene has the ability to change lives! In the moments of wanting to give up. In the moments when you are told you aren't good enough, your SPIRIT can speak to your heart and then true strength comes alive! Believe, Believe, Believe, not in yourself, but believe in THE SPIRIT that lives in you that is available when you hear ITS VOICE, call upon the SPIRIT and then eliminate the voice of doubts and lies! Truly STALLONE is BLESSED to always have the right characters, right muscles, the right words, and the right spirit to bring MOVIES ALIVE!
