Did you know about the melted Jaguar XJ? The building 20 Fenchurch St is also known as the Walkie Talkie for its resemblance to a two-way radio. It was fully constructed in 2014, but in 2013 during its construction they noticed that its concave shape and mirror windows were heating up certain sections of the roadway below. With temps reaching North of 200 degrees. In fact, enough to melt a vehicle's exterior! They discovered this when Martin Lindsay parked his $155,000 Jaguar XJ out front that upon his return he found the mirror, the rear of the car, certain panels and even the logo had begun to melt and warp causing permanent damage to the car. All said and done the bill for the repair was around 960 pound sterling. The company that built the building decided to compensate Martin and paid him 1,000 for his trouble.
