The Nokia X is a great little device, although it's a bit under-powered compared to what we've become accustomed to recently. It also has a very interesting launcher, and by "interesting" we mean "weird".

What would happen if we could put a Google experience onto the Nokia X? Today we're going to do just that!

I'm about to get a Nokia X dual sim and this video made me very curious. As soon as I get home, I will go and follow the instructions from you on how to have Nokia X as a full android device and I will let you know how it went. Thank you so much for this video :)


L/E: I have done all the steps and it worked. I have it now for a few months and it is running ok...not as a Galaxy S5 but for a low budget smartphone...it works..

Hello Joe, thanks for the demo.
I surely skipped the Nokia X, as you said it's underpowered.
More importantly, even with the pure Google experience, I see that it won't live up to it.
This is a smartphone with 512 Mbytes of Ram and only 4 GB of internal storage, that would be easily consumed by apps and their data.

I still believe that Nokia has released an unfinished product, that's the Nokia X.

Nokia's default launcher just lags as hell. Poorly coded and unrefined. But with the Google launcher it just flies! 
Next mod: UDN Pro and softkey enabler. It's rooted anyway :)

Yes! it really looks promising. I wonder if the same is possible on the Nokia XL, which is a bit superior than the X  or X+ in terms of screen size, camera and RAM.

That Google Now launcher shown in this video should have been the way the home screen looked along with that app drawer shown. Nokia went with something that looked way out of style.

This is actually a mid changer for all those people wanting an android nokia phone maybe this is what nokia designers wanted all along that buyers would tweak their nokia x as they want to I would buy it if I was into android but wp8.1 looks more interesting to me right now just hope it keeps growing faster

I've Nokia X on the and if Nokia X gets kitkat like or pure Google experience *ROM, not themes or launchers* then I'll drop the huge list of possible Samsung sidekicks and go for this phone.

I don't think I would upgrade or change it to a google experience. I would probably just buy a Moto G and call it a day. I kinda like the Nokia X I used, it put some simplicity on the android twist.

i was curious, so i bought a nokia x. im in so. cal. on att, after setting apn settings, its slow connection and underpowered underbelly, made me root it and put nova launcher on it. still a very slow device all together.  maybe the next versions will be higher specked. it has promise, but for now, its just a toy.

I'm still a hardcore WP user. The Nokia X came with weak specs and hardware compared to other high end devices from HTC and Samsung. I'll pass up this device and wait until high end version of a Nokia device comes out. Who knows I just might break my WP bond and switch to android...
