An Animated History of Transportation

Ever since the first hominids left Africa, human beings have been on the move. The canoe was invented in 8,000 B.C. and the first form of public transportation was a stagecoach operated in Paris in 1662. Fast forward to today's self-driving car prototype, and it's clear just how far we've come.

The diesel truck was not invented in the 1890's... the diesel ENGINE was. You have to go well into the 20th century for the first vehicles actually powered by diesel.

It is interesting that the self driving car from 2009 was a "prototype" while the airplane of 1903 was apparently the finished product!
Also I sincerely doubt that in another millennium anyone will look back and count in the monster truck as a big leap x)
