Me: Hey Amazon my delay pedal has not arrived yet? Amazon: Its a delay pedal.

I noticed this at NAMM a few years ago - there were lots of pedals from different brands with the same control set and enclosure layout, obviously all made in the same factory. If you buy a thousand units, they'll put *your* name on it.

I was wondering this too. I didn’t see them listed anymore.

I think what happened was that Chinese manufacturers that were looking for business started making reference designs to show off their capabilities and at some point customers started buying reference designs with almost no changes. So now nearly all contract manufacturers in China have a catalog of reference designs that their customers can choose from and the customers simply slap their brand onto it. That is why Amazon is flooded with the same products that have many different brand names. And as you noted, Amazon does the same thing with a lot of their Basics line.

Thanks Steve. You actually did the homework for me as I was watching the initial review video. We all know almost everything inexpensive circles back to a common manufacture with companies spec'ing paint schemes for enclosures.
What I find endearing about your videos is that you explain, what I call "musician secret language" that's taken me a few years to decipher. Thanks again!

I worked at Amazon in Seller Support. It was very common that if a seller had a good selling item, Amazon would copy it and go after their market. Very scum baggy indeed!!

I would (and will) buy these pedals in a heartbeat. The price of pedals is ridiculous given the parts involved and calling something 'boutique' is just a way of justifying being ripped off by gaining some sonic quality that just is in the imagination.

It is one of the things Amazon is known for. Rebranding existing products, Selling it for less in an attempt to crush the little guy.

Thank you for reviewing the Amazon basics pedals. I'm trying to get into playing but I can never get the sound right, but both of your videos were a good watch and your playing sounds great.

The tone you get with that Les Paul is Awesome... Norlin era Customs have some kind of a special sauce ..

Nice video. I think the pedals sound great. I've also seen a brand of pedals called Twinote ... and the small format versions of their Ana Delay and Tube Overdrive pedals also look remarkably similar to the Amazon/NUX/Koko pedals. The Amazon pedals are listed as either unavailable or temporarily out of stock here in the UK, except the Delay and Looper pedals which are apparently not released over here yet.

Thanks for letting me know there was a follow up. I am not surprised it's like how Cort makes tons of guitars for a ton of different brands. I am fairly new to NUX recently got their Mighty Lite BT 3W Mini Combo Amp on a deal of the day for 60 bucks. I was amazed with it it's a great little take anywhere amp. Can be plugged in or battery powered is blutooth ready so you can control it with your phone. I have a ton of pedals already not much I need but i am going to check out a few that I might find useful from either of these companies.

I have the NUX Oceanic reverb mini that I took a chance on, just based on size. It's pretty solid. No complaints.

I did find the Koko pedal on Amazon France, but only the distortion (and I'm lucky, it was the only one I wanted. The OD was good too, but I have the real one, the Tube Screamer). Thx to you, Steve, I'll play the NU>X distortion (I knew the brand, and I know they do pretty good stuff I'm interested in. Saw that on a channel from Singapore where the guy tries a lot of NU>X products they send him). Thank you once again, Steve. I'll subscribe for your help.

Speaking of budget pedals, the Mosky CE Nano Chorus is fantastic. Quiet switch. No jump in volume when engaging. Sounds like a vintage BOSS chorus.

The Rowin Flanger same thing. $30 pedal sounds great. Quiet switch. Play nice with the other pedals.

I've put together 14 pedal boards with anywhere fro 10 to 15 of these "budget" pedals on each. I love them! They're awesome pedals. You get a dead one now and then but Amazon's return policy make refunding or replacement a breeze.

I have several KOKKO pedals, Rowin, VSN, MOSKY, Satone, Azor, which are rebranded Caline pedals as I understand it. They are all pretty much identical circuits. I have that red distortion with the KOKKO name on it. It's a great sounding distortion. Nicely scooped. Plenty of gain on tap. Brutal.

The most expensive pedal I have is a Carl Martin Plexitone which is a killer pedal too of course.

I really don't understand stuff like "don't play blues with a distortion pedal, that's not what it's for". If it sounds good, it IS good.
