Excellent video. Not a novice. But it's good to have a refresher just incase you've stepped away from model building. Thanks

Great video. FYI the vice grips work great on the sheathing as well. They will just pull the sheathing off the inner wires and leave them untouched, and you don’t risk nicking the inner wires with the razor.

This is what I've been wanting to learn in more depth. I have been doing some model lighting, but what I would really like to learn is how to coordinate my lighting with sound, such as lights flashing to the sound of thunder.. I have most all that equipment, plus that DC voltage generator. I love my Vise-Grip wire cutter. It's the best, in my opinion. I have that same solder iron cleaner. I use a heat gun for my shrink tubing. I always wear thermal gloves when I do it, using my helping hand to hold it. There are several things I want to know with lighting, also how to avoid overheating a 9V battery with my circuits. I know the answers are out there! Looking forward to this, Kenny. --Cindi (Granny Glue-Sniffer)

Great video! I have close to zero knowledge of currents, and still need to figure out Amps, Volts, etc :(

Hi Kenny!
What about “solder paste”?
It helps a lot with the bonding between solder parts...
Greetings.

Hi Kenny. I am now to your channel. Great vid by the way. My question is this. I am just getting into lighting my models (Enterprise 1:1000) and I have purchased the light kit that goes with it. I have been looking for a power source that I can test the LED strips without having to plug and unplug them from the JST 2 pin connector. I see that you have aXPower DCpower supply. Is this something that I can use to test the light strips with? Also any help you can give me on a portable power source to pre-check the lights that use the JST 2 pin connvectors would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You didn't mention glow in the dark spray paint, that's how they lighted all of those movie models, they didn't have any lights in them, just sprayed on glow in the dark paint. You can get it at Dollar General for more than a dollar, like 9 dollars
