Elecrow Raspberry Pi Pico Advanced Kit

The Elecrow Raspberry Pi Pico advanced kit was sent to me for free. Why?! .. because Elecrow wants some of that sweet social media lovin'!

I’m gonna keep this simple…
It’s a solid kit that comes with 32 sensors and 32 projects. It has motors, multiple displays, even an RFID module and plenty of blinky makers.
This kit includes the Raspberry Pi Pico which is a microcontroller. All of the projects provided use MicroPython, which is an easy to learn robust programming language.
I tested a few projects to feel out the overall quality...To me it was fine. Nothing super special outside of the amount of electronics you get for the money.!
Now, the price on this kit is $43, which is more than fair for what you get. But, shipping from China adds another $29! Is it still worth it at $72? I’d say probably.
You will definitely learn something with this kit. However I wouldn’t say they’re goal was to teach… it was more to give you more experience in a variety of areas.
If I was starting fresh into microcontrollers I would consider this a worthwhile investment.

Comprehensive Kit with Variety: The kit includes a Raspberry Pi Pico and a wide range of 32 sensor modules, offering a broad spectrum for experimentation and learning, suitable for both beginners and experienced users. The smart car kit and associated mechanical instructions could use some work.

Programming and Education: The kit comes with 32 MicroPython programming lessons with completed scripts, catering to different levels of coding proficiency. This gives the kit good variety.

Quality and Usability: The contents, including various sensors and modules, are generally aligned with what's expected from microcontroller kits.

Ease of Setup and Use: The Raspberry Pi Pico stands out for its ease of programming and setup, especially the drag-and-drop feature for MicroPython. The clear documentation, contributes to a more accessible learning and development process.

Value and Recommendations: The kit offers good value, especially for beginners interested in diverging from traditional Arduino-based projects. The kit's diversity and the power of the Pico are strong points.

This looks super cool. Its good to see technology is getting cheaper.
10 years ago when I made an arduino OLED small watch it cost me about $250 but half that cost was for a 3in OLED screen. Here its almost nothing compared to that.

If you just read about every sensor you can you will get ideas and you will have an idea of what you should get or if you get an idea do research about what sensors do you need for the idea to work and get small microcontroller and just 1 for prototypes I like the nano with the male pins for the bread board.

For getting started with micro-controllers, 70 bucks is a good deal. Back my days it was a plenty thousands worth experience 😊

this may not be the right place but in case it is, do you know if it's possible to create a controller from scratch that can connect to a PC? i want to make a gamepad with a touchpad, that the PC recognizes as a keyboard with touchpad. thank you for your time.

Hi. Is this a stand-alone product? Do I need to have some other element(s) to make this work? Soldering involved? I take, laptop or phone being required, as read. Thanks, to anyone who has the answers.
