I like how this scene gets mirrored in the games itself. Like getting slapped when you lose becomes getting killed. Gi-hun forgetting about the cash and just wanting to to slap this guy back when he won is also sort of mirrored in the finale, since he didn't touch the money for a year and then at the end swore to end the games.
