The feels!!!

SAO may not be the best anime, but it somehow has a soft spot in my heart.

And this cover in such a comfortable tonality to the ear it makes it far more pleasing to listen to.

This song has a particular soft spot within me (as well as the Phantom Bullet Arc outro, whose title I forgot at the moment), so listening to it after such a long time actually jerked some tears.

AmaLee, I’m sure you won’t ever end up reading this, but I’m a boy in highschool suffering from depression. The first time when I heard this song a couple times from my first time watching the anime, it was something that had genuinely made me happy, which is not something I have felt or had felt in a long time. This beautiful cover of this song re’ignite’d that same happiness in me, and I want to thank you. Thank you, AmaLee.

This is literally Sinon's theme. She's playing a sniper in a war game to overcome her fear of guns, born from the trauma of killing a man with a gun to save a fellow human being at a very young age. She acted purely on instinct, and the law brushed it off as self- defense by a minor, but it haunted her for years. One of the girls who bullied her used to steal her father's gun, and point it at Sinon during recess, resulting in Sinon having a panic attack, with the bullies laughing (kids can be more cruel than we know).

The most touching scene of this arc was when the woman Sinon had saved that day came to visit her and her newfound friends. She came with her daughter who was still in her womb, when Sinon shot the robber. The daughter gave Sinon a drawing, thanking her. Sinon realized her killing the robber had saved not only the woman, but her unborn child. Sinon had taken a life, but she had saved TWO innocent lives in return. That revelation made her cry tears of joy, as it did me.

The most satisfying moment was when the bullies once more pointed a gun at Sinon, she just took the gun in her hand, lectured them about the dangers of guns, gave it back, and walked away. The traumatized little girl was gone, and a brave young woman had taken her place, and the bullies could do nothing but stare. That's some S- tier writing.

I really admire how you recover your old songs. It shows a lot of growth in your vocal ability and creativity! Here you’ve given Ignite a whole new feeling and I honestly love it.

Man, I remember finding the original version of this song back in like 2014 or something like that. This really helped me through a pretty dark time and also inspired me in my work and it's so great to hear it better than ever. Seriously, these 2 versions are great examples of how you've really grown into your voice, changing the music as needed to fit it rather than trying to force yourself to hit notes outside your range and I find that truly beautiful

I had my obvious suspicions, given that Phantom Bullet was her arc, but man, finally seeing the full lyrics to this song, it's definitely, undeniably, about Sinon overcoming her traumas, along with the ending lyrics too! Really nice cover, Lee, and good luck in that Squad Jam tournament, that's a Hell of a team you've got there!
