ESO's Update 43 Looks... Interesting 🤔 Elder Scrolls Online U43 Preview Stream Recap

Bethesda hosted an Update 43 preview stream that gave us a first look at some of the prominent features coming to The Elder Scrolls Online! We got the chance to see the new Home Tours system in action, we took a peek at the new content coming to the endless PVE arena, Infinite Archive, and previewed some new improvements.

In this video I will briefly summarize that stream to highlight the most significant features, such as the new ESO housing update. Also, I kept saying “House Tours” instead of “Home Tours” which is the technical name of this new feature. That’s what happens when I write up a script super quickly to try to get a recap out for the next day :’) The avatar consumable also allows you to transform once per round/run, if that was not clear.

pour one out for the people who were hoping for an increased housing item limit even though the devs have told us a billion times that that's not happening 😩 (me, I'm people)

I think the backlash from these announcements would have been seriously lessened if they had advertised the IA stuff earlier in the year, rather than the housing feature. Making a popular add-on into a base game feature is probably just overall a good thing, especially for console players, but I can understand the huge let down it is to housing mains to hear that the feature they've been hyping up all year is just a thing most of them already do anyway. Meanwhile the IA stuff is completely out of nowhere, and actually looks really cool. If "New IA updates" had been teased since the start of the year, for us to be shown this now, I don't think many people would have any reason to be disappointed, and then the housing feature would be a kind of neat surprise on the side. Not sure why they chose to do it like this, but oh well.

Since he is literally the guy that made the addon, he should have done the whole thing, ALL the tools. Not the simplest one. Also I think one very nice and easy thing would be akin to 'loadouts' in houses. Let me set stuff up one way and then swap to a new organization on the fly.

I'm happy they upped the ways you can farm luminous ink, though I was noticing that I was getting a lot of ink from just running around questing and occasionally wandering over to pick flowers and harvest nodes while just adventuring. I think if you're focused more on pve group content, you'll be hurting for ink more than the pve questers.

I was hoping to resize furniture like how we can do in The Sims. The scale of furniture just fail to fit in our houses e.g. the chandeliers are too huge, the walls don’t reach the ceiling, etc. I also hope we can toggle on/off the main structure to make an empty space for customisation.

The new housing feature is pretty cool, but there were so many other things I would've preferred to have. Unlimited furniture bags, making some crown-store exclusive furniture/houses obtainable through gameplay, more furniture, and of course, increasing the slot limit. It's always been insane to me that you pay twice as much for a notable home and only get an extra 100 slots (with ESO+) versus double slots.

Having the confidence to hype up a new housing feature when all they are planning to do is making it easier to look at other people's houses - which I think has always appealed to a rather small part of the player base - it's brave, I give them that. I also really, really hate it. I just wanted something, ANYTHING, to do in my house that I couldn’t also do in a city!

IA getting more features to drift it away from solo play since marauders and arc 3 and 4 are basically impossible solo for most people

It's that they made it a *super big exciting housingpalooza* teaser and then... erm...
Was hoping for mats back for deconning furniture, more items slots (ofc) and a flipping menu of where tf did I store that one purple rug
