My favourite question in the world is, “What if?”. From the most inane speculation—"What if you think in your accent?”—to the greatest endeavour—"What if we went to Mars?”—“What if?” is the leading cause of, and solution to, all of life’s problems. Unencumbered, “What if?” just might be the most potent question in human history. Here’s IWC having a go.

Coincidentally, 30, 000g is the same about of shock my bank account would experience from purchasing this watch.

It s great to see IWC becoming IWC again and producing innovative watches

It can also withstand Toto Wolff's desk slam after losing a WDC. That had to have been more than 30, 000g.

Awesome engineering but if I suffer 30k G, I’m a gonner! At least my watch would survive! It’s just soothing to know! Have a great weekend everyone

Thank you for this video. I'm no engineer, but this is a very enjoyable explanation of the principles of physics and chemistry in the real world. Rolex and Omega used to tackle these kinds of problems and were the better for it. If one values function over form, a good argument can be made that this is a very beautiful watch. But I always thought Panasonic Toughbooks were really cool...

Simply brilliant. superb material, research, narration, photography and background music. You take us on a journey of exploration and admiration with each video. Hands down one of the best and most unique watch channels on Youtube. I got 3 out of my 4-watch collection because of your videos and no hints of regret so far :). Keep them coming.

The protector looks injected/molded. A 3D printed part would not have (or need) ejector pins and parting lines

what was mentioned at the start (~4:10)?? In impact between a moving and a stationary object, the energy is transferred from the stationary to the moving object??? Now I'm really confused.

Great video. Just one observation at 4:16 is it correct to say that the energy is transferred from static object to moving object? I think it may be the reverse. The kinetic energy of a moving object gets transferred into the static at impact, and also into deformation of both, especially the moving object.

Indycar driver Kenny Brack holds the record for highest G forces survived at 214G. The crash took place in 2003 at Texas Motor Speedway, the last race of the season that year for Indycar. He actually returned a little less than 2 years later to race in the 2005 Indy 500. Absolutely amazing crash, story and man.

In some ways it reminds me of the H. Moser & Cie Swiss Icons watch, maybe the logo. Excellent video... I've never really seen the appeal of IWC and videos like this keep us connected and fascinated with the history of the industry. Well done, Cool Hands!

Nice job! Interesting watch. A thing that usually goes unmentioned in regards to your class-act productions are the welcome lack of annoying commercials. Thanks again!

It's nice but a g shock dw5600 is also an extremely tough watch for a fraction of the price;)

00:06 i know you would never realize it when just looking at the watch with your eyes, but the little extra paint on the bottom right of the zero is triggering me^^

If I have $85k to spend on a tool watch I can't say I would pick this guy. Cool to see though. Interested if what they learned from this process will find its way to other pieces

Based on what he explained about the specifications of the watch I don't know for sure but if I had to place a bet for what watch it is I would put all my money on the Eric Clapton's Rolex Reference 6263, the “Oyster Albino” Cosmograph Daytona.

Our son graduates this year! I'm looking at the Laco squad watch over the IWC Aquatimer automatic! Laco offers free engraving!! At a fraction of the price compared to IWC it's a great watch for University & playing sports/swimming etc!
