One of the things another magician recommended to me once was to get a manicure before any paid gig. They’re essentially paying you to look at your hands. It was good advice. I would even get a clear shiny nail polish on them. Women really notice and will compliment them. The same way dirty nails can be a distraction, so can manicured shiny nails but without the gross factor.
