"Emotions" is definitely one of her hardest and the hardest songs ever recorded!
"Emotions" is like Minnie Ripperton's "Loving You's " sister who has been training for the Olympics and has won the gold medal on multiple occasions.

Like "Loving You" It's structured in a way that it essentially *requires* those multiple whistle notes. Something most do not how to use on command, let alone have as much control over it like Mariah and Minnie do. However where "Emotion" takes it up several notches is when you factor in the lows, the transitions, the vocal agility, the tempo that doesn't give one much time to rest and the fact that many parts of it are strong 5th octave belts and it's on a whole other level.

Not saying her other songs aren't difficult because they are, but people can get by with subpar renditions because many of her songs tend to have lots of subtleties that the most (the general public) do not grasp thus they can still be impressed, even when many if those vocal intricacies are missed but with Emotions, the difficulties are right in your face.

I love how this video gave emphasis on the "emotion" part of her songs. Because a lot of singers tend to focus more on just hitting the notes, then abandoning the emotion that they must convey while singing the song 👏🏻

She is such a legendary artist that will match none, and never will.
I’ve been checking out all her albums and many concerts and this woman is hands down something else.
And the fact that she writes everything herself, and does R&B, Ballads, Hip-Hop and even House shows that she’s an open minded woman too. With soooo many collabs.
