As an ex Egyptian Copt ( the Coptic religion is one of the oldest Christian churches established by St.Mark in Egypt), I speak the Arabic language, & have to inform you that the Moslem arabs use the name „ Isa“ for Jesus, while we Copts call our Lord Jesus „ Yasu“ ( in the Coptic language). I've always assumed it was Yeshua, but didn't make the connection that Yeshua is Hebrew. Jesus and those around Him spoke Aramaic so it would follow logically that He used the Aramaic form of His name Isho. Very fascinating. Loved it!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. We muslims know Prophet Jesus ( peace be upon him) as "Isa" in the Quran, but many muslims also use Jesus today because majority of our English speaking friends use Jesus. Its good to know how the original name of Jesus has evolved over time from his original Aramaic name and its alternative versions in other languages.

Most of the video is good, except for the conclusion. This is from someone who studies Aramaic almost everyday, 'Isho' is just an Aramaic dialect of dozens that can be found in the last 2000 years. Even English has changed since the 1400's. In both Judaean and Galilean Aramaic, the Messiah's name would be pronounced exactly as the Hebrew -- Yeshua with the last letter as a guttural 'ayin'; similar to Gomorrah which is actually Amorrah, however, translators add the 'G' since it's similar to a guttural 'ayin' i.e., the 16th letter of the Hebrew/Aramaic alphabet.
