Fosse would shout: SMALLER!! You are doing too much!

I hadn't realized how much of Fosse's moves were in Wednesday's Dance seen! Love it!

Movements are too large. Fosse was into micro-movements.

The dancer you’re recreating, Suzanne Charny, still alive. She’s apparently very happy that her showcase performance in Sweet Charity has found new life on YouTube. She’s also said that the shoes she was wearing were a size too small and that the hairpiece ponytail gave her a headache.

Great dance choice! So glad you are honoring one of the greats. Keep it up!

the only thing is that it doesn't feel natural. Fosse choreographed with the intention of making his dances look as natural and flowing as possible

Moves and technique are good, but needs a bit of that Fosse swagger that seems to add more fluidity to the movements if that makes sense.

A lot of people are providing their input, and if you want to perfectly recreate the dance, you might listen to it, but as it stands, I think this a really awesome interpretation of Fosse’s dance. ❤

I see the comments about “quieter “ and such.
I see what they are talking about, but you nailed the piece. Individual expression is up to the performer.
I’m curious how long you worked on it, nice job!

It is an incredible dance... A lot of skill and synchronicity with the music... the creators were artists who used a cast and a set design ahead of its time.

Remember, this was shot during the pandemic. It may be true that Fosse's movements are more subtle than Alley's demonstration here, but as an in-person choreographer was likely out of the question (social distancing), Alley probably had to teach herself this difficult routine.

Under those circumstances, this clip is quality enough to serve as a strong video audition for a "Sweet Charity" production.

Nice. But you need to have your movements softer.

Omg whatever higher power you pray to may bless you. Thank you. I needed this today. Thanks for knowing this movie, thanks for knowing this dance, thanks for learning this dance, and sharing it! There is hope, just yet.

Thanks to Broadway Barbara I can only think of "soft boiled egg hands" when it comes to that one arm movement. LOL!

Fabulous! But you can see how much time, time, over time, and then some more time he put into his performers and each stroke of movement or non movement until every millimetre was precisely as his vision.
