Timeline of the Raptors Championship

The Toronto Raptors won their first ever championship in 2019 led by Kawhi Leonard. Masai Ujiri did a fantastic job taking over the team and leading them to the title through good drafting and the trades for Kawhi Leonard and Marc Gasol.

The Championship didn't happen overnight and it was years in the making. This timeline starts with the Chris Bosh years and ends with Kawhi Lenard leaving to join the Los Angeles Clippers after winning the 2019 title.

The greater the risk, the greater the reward. Trading for Kawhi was a huge risk that paid off big time. Too bad there aren't more organizations that willing to go all in for one season. That was the most gutsy move in sports I've ever seen. Now, even after Kawhi left, the future looks very bright for the Raptors.

Seeing the evolution of the Raptors starting lineup is insane. From to with Ibaka off the bench. I think because how short that group was together(Gasol came at the trade deadline) people really underrate how talented the Raptors’ starting 5 was last year. That 6 man rotation had 11 all stars, 6 1st team all-defense, 2 DPOYs, 3 1st team all-NBA, 4 2nd team all-defense, and an MIP(who’ll be a future all star) between them. That’s a huge comeup. It sucks that we couldn’t see another year of them together

As a Celtics fan I’ve always thought that the Raptors were “cool” because they really played as a team when they were good/great not just a good roster but good chemistry
