Timeline of the RAPTORS' RISE and FALL

Masai Ujiri helped herald a new era of success, led by a backcourt duo of DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry. The Raptors became a consistent playoff team in every year. But the team's failure to reach the NBA Finals led to the trade of DeRozan for Leonard and Green, and later acquiring Marc Gasol. Consequently, the Raptors won their first NBA championship.

One of my favourite moment is LeBron and the Cavs sweep them twice in East semis. Also game 7 dagger of Kawhi in the face of Joel Embiid I never forget the face of Embiid crying. Kawhi should not leave raptors for atleast 2 years.

It's wild watching this from start to finish because I remember how much I disliked both Rudy and Bargnani on the Raptors, and yet, it was because of those 2 trades that basically got us a championship lol. The second Rudy trade started the path to title contention, and the Bargnani trade gave us the 1st round pick to draft Poetl, who was then packaged in the Kawhi trade. So if they were never on the team, or got traded at a different moment in time, or even stayed - then we never win a title.

Raptors didn't fall. They were the number 1 team in the east last year without Kawhi, and could have maybe gotten to the ECF if they played their 4 home games in Toronto and Siakam didn't lose his touch during the break. Furthermore, this season they were forced to move to another city and lost their best players for a month to covid. At the end of the season, Ujiri made the correct call to lose games instead of pursuing the play in game (in which all the "winners" got crushed in the first round). Toronto is now going back home with one of the Uber prospects on their team.

They traded away Lowry to Miami for Dragic and Achiuwa. Toronto is now most likely gonna be led by Vanvleet, Siakam and OG Anunoby in addition to Dragic.

Raptors could make the Play-in maybe as the 10th or even 9th seed, but overall I think they're gonna regress.
