The best way to dispose of Thanksgiving grease is to freeze it and throw it away.

Why bother freezing it? It’ll just melt. Put it in a container with a top and throw it away.

Been pouring oil into the sink for about 15 years now (not large quantities tho), never had any issues with the pipes, and I work as a plumber... Now this may not be true if you have old non PVC pipes.

From the video: put the grease in a can and freeze it, then throw the frozen grease away in the trash

Or take it to a hazardous waste facility to dump it there.

I don't want my freezer smelling like grease. I usually when the grease is still a liquid will walk the pan I cooked it in to the woods behind the hoiuse and dump it out there.

I'm not ever freezing grease. The freezer is for food only and it will stay packed for food only like it ought to. Deal with it. It's going into the trash bag in liquid used form and it's going into the dumpster until the dump adds special grease only dumpsters to get picked up by a different grease truck.

If you garden, combine it with old flour into paste and throw in the compost bin. Or soak up with news papers/cardboard/egg cartons and do the same.

Dump it on the bad plants that you don’t want growing

Put it in a plastic container like the one it came in and throw it in the trash. That's what I do. What's the point freezing it? Isn't it just gonna thaw?

Where are all the chef's?
Put it in pan fries, dough, etc.

To be honest, throwing it away in the trash only goes to your local land-fill where it’s buried with other trash that goes into the Earth’s soil. So by dumping it into the ground some where on your property is no different no? It’s just going into the exact same place, the soil. Please don’t tell me anything about it seeping down into some water spring or something similar due to the fact a land-fill is dumping 100’s of thousands of gallons into their landfill & it not doing the same damage? That would be far fetched. Most people don’t have room in their freezers for a big ole can/jar of oil grease to begin with & then the oily mess we’d make in our trash cans ontop of it too? Just makes more sense to pour it into the ground somewhere 🤷🏻‍♂️

Should be used as an energy source for heating or biodiesel... but I guess we don't wanna take the time to recycle and process it 😒 What a waste. Used to be a biodiesel producer by me and then they shutdown.
