The wii u, before the eshop closed, gave you the ability to play a lot of virtual console up to n64 and some remastered gcn titles. Plus the games made for it are great

The switch isn’t a bad option nowadays with it having super Mario all stars, and lots of ports of older games, and new games still being released

Or a Launch Version of the Nintendo Switch. Launch edition ones don't have the Mariko chip, leaving them vulnerable to modification and homebrew. Any Switch consoles that have the chip are useless, as they would require physical modifications to mod it.

I'd say the switch (mostly because the eshops on Wii u and ds closed) purely because of the switch's MASSIVE eshop, especially with all the small indie titles and portability

yeah, wii u is pretty good. ik some people will make the argument that the switch can play older games as well, but would you rather OWN them or only be able to play them with a yearly subscription? one that costs you almost $80 dollars?
