how do you know its not an oil pressure problem?

Wish I had known this. Oil light started flashing and phoned my mechanic. Got speaking to his helper who said it was an oil pressure fault. ... and not to continue. Was 18 miles upriver so moored up, hitched a lift back for car and trailer. Brought eventually back to boatyard. .. mechanic did above and problem solved. Aaagh !!!!
