Miata prices are already up, this just set it in stone.

I've had a Miata for four months now, it definitely has to be one of the best beginner cars there is. Couldn't drive manual and couldn't really identify anything within the engine bay prior to owning it. It really is always the answer.

"can handle anything and everything you throw at it" except for braking mid corner. it gets so excited its being driven hard it does a little spin

I'll admit they may be a little overhyped, but for good reason. it's not very fast so you can just go flat out 90% of the time, it handles super well, 4 wheel disc brakes, double wishbone suspension, and probably one of the single best manual transmissions made in the 90s.
perfect for heel-toe, perfect for just getting some seat time in a car, and even good for someone learning how to drive a manual for the first time. they're pretty easy to drift, just go to a parking lot and mess around for a bit
to say they're easy to work on is an understatement as well. I swapped in a 1.8 into my 92 Miata after I blew the 1.6 and I barely knew anything about cars at the time, just sorta learned as I went through it. after some injector cleaning she fired right up with an open downpipe. it shook the earth beneath it

if I could swap in ANY engine, I'd put a 26B in er and let it scream

You should' sell seats and exhaust bolt-ons. I know it gets messy if you go too far from universal fit.

"Why is the Mazda Miata always the answer?"
Because Toyota forgot how to ACTUALLY make an 86...
Also the Mazda Miata NA is actually kinda overpriced and overhyped, but kinda understandable. The NA is my favourite generation, as for the engine, I'd probably stuff a Toyota 3SGTE into it, except I'd rip the Turbo off and stuff a Supercharger instead.

I have had them all. I loved my NA. It had the 1.8, then a 13B then back to the 1.8 with the 13B's turbo. Then I had the NB for a daily. then My wife got the NC GT. that was my Favorite of them all to date. then she got the RF and my mom got the ND Club sport. I can't fit in the ND. So If I get another it will be a 14 NC Club. Then do the 2.5 swap, with a turbo maybe a dog box.

When I was born I was brought home from the hospital in a Mazda Miata. Nothing but fond memories of Mazda Miatas

I have a camry that’s lowered, a 240sx that doesn’t run, but my Miata always got me feeling good like the others don’t

Own a 96 NA8. Pretty much the perfect all around driving enthusiast platform (good for car enthusiasts too). Awesome first car as well. They're also great for learning to wrench on. Very simple, pretty much all just nuts and bolts. Non interference motors so it's more forgiving if you make a mistake while working on it and say something like a belt snaps. They're also just very reliable overall and being fuel efficient, means you aren't draining your money at the gas station every time you need to fill up. Also, the sheer number produced, as was mentioned, makes finding good deals on parts and the oppurtunity to be thrifty pop up a lot more often. Very easy to own these cars on a limited budget. Have been able to be thrifty with almost everything on mine and where the car is at now, seems like it would be a lot more expensive than it really was. That's the power of networking with other miata owners and pick n pull.

They're also just fantastic learner cars for getting a handle on performance driving. They definitely are NOT forgiving cars to drive fast like some people say. The lightness makes it nimble but the 50/50 weight distribution means managing weight transfer is a skill you'll have to get used to if you wanna be fast. If you fuck up, you can spin out super easily. But that's also why it's such a great drivers car, you can learn the rwd platform on a car that's slow but, it still is capable of a bunch of advanced driving techniques. If you look up mx5 dynamic drift for instance, there's a video of drift king inducing and holding a drift with just liftoff oversteer.

Once you learn how to be quick on a miata, you'll feel much more comfortable in any other rwd car you get in.

I have had my '97 for a while now and it HAS been a blast hanging the rear end out as I go sideways around corners. I thought it was underpowered of course, so when the engine expired I LS swapped it. Now I have a Miata the way they *should* have come from the factory. Now I get miles of smiles with everlasting torque and Screamin' Eagles under the hood!

Thankfully around the beginning of this year i was able to snag a manual bone stock 94 with no rust before prices shot up.

Great video guys! Thanks so much for featuring a clip from my NA Miata review :) 8:13 Really means a lot to me.

Fun fact, that is my most viewed video... for now haha. That was the first miata i've ever driven. Since that video, I've gone out and bought a bone stock, running and driving NB miata for $1, 450. Building it up slowly but surely, and I absolutely love the car. I daily it, take it on long drives, race, and take it on rallies. I beat on it and she takes it like a champ. Amazing cars.

For anybody looking for a good exhaust for both NB and NA, i HIGHLY recommend the ISR “Catback” exhaust. I quote catback because it deletes the cat lmao, so keep your stock midpipe in hand. ISR gives it that deep throaty tone, without the rasp, very droney, but literally nothing to complain about, if you can’t stand drone, you’re too old for exhausts 😭. Either way, 10/10 exhaust, for sound, price, and ease of install.
