The people that don't like the Miata won't ever buy one, because they don't get why the Miata is like that.

If the Miata changed it would cease to be the Miata. The formula makes the car.

Miata's are true roadster sport cars. It's amazing to have this type option available for over 33 years.

In 1974 I borrowed a college friend’s MGB to drive home in the hills of SE Ohio. My brother had a ‘72 Challenger 383 with a Hurst Pistol Grip 4-speed. But that drive in a 68 hp MGB was what has made me smile for 50 years. My ND Miata is that MGB in a form that is functional and it is a true roadster. Never change it!

The fact that the new only weighs 1kg more than the old one even though they had to add much more to it in order to meet safety requirements is truly amazing, hats off to everyone at Mazda that work on the car

I 100% agree on that the miata/mx5 fomula should never change. Back in the 90's there were so many small sporty compact cars. All of them with exception to the miata, got fat, cramped with electronics and tech and lost what they were about. Lightweight and simple.

If the Miata isn’t big enough for you, look elsewhere. Don’t ruin it for the rest of us by asking for a bigger car

roughly a week or so ago I saw a video where they interviewed the engineer who designed the miata. In his own words: The miata was never meant to go fast or be a technological masterpiece. I designed this car so it would be fun to drive.

I still have my red 1992 miata with factory hardtop bought new off the dealers lot.
A couple of modest upgrades over the years ( brakes, better clutch and other small things) a engine rebuild with modest upgrades for a bit more power at 250K miles, still running strong.

My wife, my son, both my daughters drove that car, now my granddaughter drives it, while I still maintain it to keep a eye on it.

I just got a new ND3 here in the UK and I can tell you coming from NC. It is amazing what they have done to it and glad it has the same size and similar power. People who is comolaining about it they got used to more and more (or they simply haven't driven one), when honestly, some things like the ND, less is more and better than other cars. The driving dinamics are one of the best cars you can on a new car have regardless of the price.

I had an MX5 for 2 years. It is the only car I have driven that made me smile everytime I drove.

They should make the miata even smaller just to piss those people off even more.

I miss my '91 5-speed convertible Miata. It was my first car I ever purchased. It was only slightly modified, I modified the headlights to make them low profile (with 2 smaller headlights in each) and put on a new muffler.

Always treated Miatas not serious, more like a meme car, until I've driven my friends ND2.
No car I've ever driven brought more smile to my face than this small bastard 😅

The simplicity of it makes it more fun.
Race on Sunday, drive to work monday.
If you break it, you dont need 20k in tools to fix it.

I love that you can see the Mk1 Miata DNA in those red Miata that are shown oversteering in this video! I worked for Mazda UK in the late 80’s and early 90’s and got to enjoy brand new Miata, or MX5 as we know them, and they were just perfect! Nothing has changed!

Im 6'4, and daily drove an NA Miata for months and months. It was 85mm off the ground, and my seats were on modified rails to get me as close to the floor pan as possible. Such a fun platform!
