Why People Hate Disney World!

Disney is fake, it’s too crowded, it’s a waste of money -- we’ve heard it all, and honestly, there are some pretty grounded criticisms of the parks out there. Today, we’re taking a look at why people hate Disney World and how we, as Disney lovers, can respond.

I frequently go back to what J. R. R. Tolkien said about escapism: “Fantasy is escapist, and that is its glory. If a soldier is imprisioned by the enemy, don't we consider it his duty to escape? … If we value the freedom of mind and soul, if we're partisans of liberty, then it's our plain duty to escape, and to take as many people with us as we can!”

I always hated the "It's for kids" complaint. I have to be an adult all the time, Disney World lets you just be a big kid again. And honestly, I feel adults have a bigger connection to Mickey than kids these days.

We went down the day after the election and 'escaped' life for a week. Let me tell you... It was phenomenal and I'm still riding the post vacation energy. With the climate of life right now people need to find a way to disconnect. Especially from social media.

As seniors we love a WDW trip. Usually only for 3-5 nights and as Florida residents we can drive but we plan a mid week day for Disney Springs. It gives us a break from the parks and a different option for meals.

I was worried this video would upset me because my first trip to Disney World (at 27, that I paid for) was ruined by my ex-fiancé, who was absolutely bent on trying to make me as miserable as he was. I still managed to have a little fun by myself while he sulked in the hotel for most of it, but that trip taught me the most important lesson I've learned my life so far: don't marry somebody you can't travel with.
I did get an incredibly magical "do-over" trip with the man who is now my husband, so there is a happy ending, but woof, some people who don't like Disney are going to be hell-bent on making everyone else miserable too.

Love Disney World, but if you're going to "throw shade", I would mention that there isn't "enough shade" in some areas of the parks.

I do not care what others think. Disneyworld to me and my hubby is somewhere we love to come every years as there is so much to do. Disneyworld provides me with lots of memories that we have made together. All the effort that goes into creating the parks and resorts is out of this world. We’re from the UK and being able to escape two weeks of the year into another world makes our year. Leaving Disneyworld breaks my heart but I know we will always be back to see my favourite mouse 🐭❤️

Crowds and price are definitely my big Disney deal breakers. I love the parks, and if I could afford to, I'd definitely go every year, but they are definitely expensive and crowded.
On escapism? That's why I love it. Hell, that's why I watch your videos! They're a dose of positivity in a trying time.

If you’ve never experienced WDW as just an adult WITHOUT kids, you’ve missed the best part! We’ve been going for years with kids and then kids with grandkids. One year my husband and I decided to go by ourselves in “off” season and now we don’t go any other way! It’s awesome and I highly recommend it!

I laugh when people say, "you're going to Disney World? Ha, good luck spending a small fortune to wait in 4 hour lines all day." Rarely have I had to wait in a long line at WDW, and even when we do get hit with those 45-60 minute wait times, it's fine. We play Heads Up on our phones, and often the other people in line start to play with us, and it ends up actually being really fun. It's all what you make of it. We always have a great time there, because we make up our minds beforehand that it's gonna be awesome.

When people tell me Disney is fake I go "duh!" You do know Dickens, Shakespeare, Victor Hugo, Cervantes, and Chaucer, didn't write journalism or history? Fake can be wonderful, if you know it's fake and take it in the right way.
