Search continues for 5-year-old boy swept away by California floodwaters

In San Luis Obispo, a 5-year-old boy and his mother were swept away by floodwaters. His mother was rescued by bystanders but the boy was taken downstream and now the search has been called off because it's too dangerous. Authorities and family are holding out hope that Kyle Doan, a kindergartener at Lillian Larsen Elementary School in San Miguel, can be found after he went missing Monday.

I’m a very good swimmer but was caught in a flash flood in New Mexico that wasn’t even a tenth of what these conditions are. Felt like the water was just playing with me, my energy was drained within a minute or two. The chances of this sweet baby making it aren’t good. Nature is just too overwhelming. 😞

The odds of a kid making it are next to nothing. The mother should have done a better job of preventing them from falling into flood waters. That kid almost certainly drowned within 15 minutes.

I'm sorry. He's more than likely moved on. We can pray for a miracle that he's ok but, if you have faith, he is ok and we don't have to turn this into TV drama series. Let it rest
