Boise Police searching for missing 5-year-old boy who disappeared from his birthday party

5-year-old Matthew walked away from his birthday party at his home near State St. and Alamosa on Monday, August 5th around 5:45 pm.
Police and Fire personnel have been searching the area, including canals nearby. So far there is no sign of Matthew, who is non-verbal and considered endangered.

Tragic that he was not under constant supervision… as children should be at that age. I used to keep my children on a harness whenever we were someplace I might get distracted - with a long leash. I got criticized for that, but i wanted them to be safe… they are both in their 50’s now. I used to live in this area; will pray for a good outcome.

Just How does a small child go missing from his own birthday party.
Obviously no attention was being paid to this child for quite sometime for this to happen, the adults too busy with themselves to look after their child, & on his birthday, this is very strange indeed! How far can a little kid go, attracted to water, water close by???

Sadly they found his body in one of the canals.
