I've been able to do this my whole life and have never done ballet... My 20 year old son can do it too. We both could do it from a young age! I also only have 7 toenails!

Both of my pinky toes and the "second" toe on my right foot have incredibly tiny little toenails. I'd describe them as a super small pebble shape and the nail grows upward vertically instead of downward and flat, toward the tip of the toe. But it seems that those nails grow much slower than the rest of my regular nails.

When I was younger I HATED it, but I have grown to appreciate their uniqueness throughout my 37 years of life. Although the first thing I asked when my son was born was "does he have all of his toenails?" The nurse looked confused and said "yes he has all of his fingers and toes!" I shook my head and pointed to my feet and said "no... Does he have all of his TOENAILS?" She did a double take and then checked for me. He had normal toenails haha.

When I was young my dad would painstakingly paint fake ones on for me so I could wear my little jelly shoes with confidence! 😂

Yep, have the same thing. Hyper flexibility/eds runs in the family. I can make my toes go into a foot fist

Like me! I have Ehlers-Danlos and can actively dislocate my toes and love them and my feet in all sorts of odd ways that gives my husband the creeps!

She blamed it on Ballet because that’s one of the exercises they teach you to do with your feet. Scrunching all of your toes up, as well as lifting individual toes/only the big toe or only the other toes. She probably didn’t know the ability to do it without torturing your feet first does exist. Lol
