Cersei’s misrule of the seven kingdoms was very well written imo.

There's so bloody much in the books, it's actually impressive how George can keep track of it all.

Edit: Alright, I get it people, George can't finish the books! You don't need to keep adding to the replies!

When Kevan called Cersei out in Feast I literally went,

You didn't really answer the question here of WHY Cersei took a female lover.

The answer, based on my reading of the books, was that she wanted to feel power over the woman. She's conflated sex and penetration and control of women's bodies with true power. And now that she's in charge, she wants to lord that power over someone else.

From what I read she’s not even bi and only had sex with her just so she can pretend to be a man. Cersei is just more crazier than all the targaryeons combined.

I wouldn't call it romantic. She is drunk at the time and trying to find out what its like to be a man in bed. Cersei doesn't enjoy it.

Kevan sounds like a real one. A shame that Varys kills him.

Calling it romantic is a HUGE stretch. Cersei isn’t attracted to women. She has A LOT of internalized misogyny, loathing the fact she is a woman because women have no power in Westeros. She can never sit on the Iron Throne herself like she wants to because only the Hand or The King are allowed to do that and she can never be either because she’s a woman. She does consider Taena very beautiful, but from Tyrion’s and Sansa’s povs it’s clear that Taena is just factually very attractive in a very sultry way. She sleeps with her because she was very drunk at the time and wanted to feel the “power” a man has over a woman during sex (specifically wondering how Robert felt when he slept with her). She doesn’t enjoy it, and the only time she kind of does is when Taena is hurting and not enjoying herself. She keeps her around though, probably because she’s spiraling into madness and Taena is gaining more and more of her trust, telling her that one of her handmaidens was spying on her for the Tyrells and such. Taena also isn’t romantically interested in Cersei, clearly having ulterior motives and not trusting Cersei enough to bring her son to court. As interesting as their dynamic is, it is far from romantic.

Taena is a very interesting character because no one really knows her motives. Her husband is a Lord from The Reach, so the Merryweathers should be loyal to House Tyrell but she seems to be working against the Tyrells but Taena doesn’t fully trust Cersei because she won’t bring her son to court even though Cersei has asked her many times to bring her son to court. I hope we get to read how this relationship plays out.
Taena could be supporting Varys’ plan but I’m not 100% convinced of that. Taena is from Myr and Daenerys spent a lot of time in Myr during her exile. So it’s a possibility that she is trying to support Daenerys’ claim to the throne after she discovered that Daenerys has a huge army and dragons. Daenerys is still very young in the books, so it’s a possibility that she wants to overthrow the Tyrells and use Cersei’s power as Queen Regent to make her husband the Lord of Highgarden so when Daenerys comes to Westeros Taena can offer her son to Daenerys has a husband which would make the Merryweathers very powerful. Again she is so mysterious that at this point we can only guess her motives, which makes her so interesting

Cersei might just be the most misogynistic woman ever

Another proof that cersei is really incompetent egocentric ruler who gets manipulated by everyone more smart than her. In the show after season 5 they show her as some kind of master mind who gets everything she wants when in reality without her plot armor she wouldn't keep the throne for herself even BEFORE daenerys arrived on westeros

Kevan actually rejected the handship because Cersei tried to give it to Jaime, then she wouldn't return to Casterly Rock like he wanted. So she gave the position to Harys Swyft Kevan's father-in-law, something of a 'hostage'. Taena's husband had a different role on the council.

I don't think Cersei is a bisexual, but I thinl she has a certain bi curiosity. She imagines what it'd be like to kiss Taena on her lips, and ended up having sex with her. Although this sex was more about her penis envy and a reflection of the sexual abuse that she suffered by Robert... But in any case, I think Cersei was attracted to Taena because she makes several marks about her appearance, she has bath with her and even opens up about her anxiety over the prophecy...

An important detail is that Cersei also had sex with Taena. Cersei brings her to bed without knowing how to sleep with a woman, so she just reenacts the way Robert used to sexually abuse her and then ignore her after.

The most moronic thing the show did was making Cersei survive and keep the throne after destroying the Sept.

Blowing people religious leader will make the people instantly rebel against you.

Without the people or the support of other great houses (wich she didnt have after blowing the Tyrells) her head should end in a pike in the first episode of season 7.

Maegor should have entirely destroyed the faith militant. it's the one case where he didn't go cruel enough.
