Our metabolism while intermittent fasting has long been a cause for concern for many who want to venture into the world of intermittent fasting. Many people hesitate on fasting because of the age old tale of your metabolism being destroyed and keeping you from losing weight. I have tackled this topic before in the past but today I want to explain what is happening in your body when you fast that is keeping your metabolism elevated even without the thermic effect of food(When you eat) I hope this video helps you out and gives you a bit more confidence to take that leap and try intermittent fasting. I'm actually on omad first day today, I'm in a deficit so I eat 1500 calories and I ate around 1 or 2 pm, it's almost midnight and I'm feeling a bit hungry, but damn I was like this is gonna be tough. NOT! I struggled while eating 1500 calories split into 3 meals and 2 snacks, I overate each day because I was hungry. Your channel has helped me a lot! Big thank you's.

I have yet to read and learn about any downside to IF. Talk about autophagy when you get a chance. The benefits of IF are incredibly exciting. Helping in aiding body fat loss is just one benefit.

I know the chance of this being seen by you is slim to none but you helped give me motivation to begin intermittent fasting. Started 1 week ago and really sticking with macros, took several before pictures as well so hopefully in a few months maybe I can DM you them since you really helped me kickstart this new lifestyle. I started to intermittent fast January 26th. I’ve gotten down to 16hr fast & I eat 2 meals a day at 2pm & at 8pm. Being 5ft even, I’m down 10lbs. Trying to gat back to my healthy weight of 120 have about 25lbs more to go. Your videos are the best there is. No one else provides the information you giving. Thank you

Man! I appreciate the grind and motivation that comes from watching your videos. I started 5 weeks ago doing 23-1 and have lost 17 pounds. I do some hiking and I drink a Bang energy drink a few times a week as well, with a water fast on Sundays. Love it. Most efficient dietary lifestyle change I have made and stuck with.

Been eating from 8am-5pm and I’ve lost 3lbs in a week. Not sure if it’s a lot or not but before doing intermittent fasting I would do a diet and lose 3lbs in a month!

It may be a coincidence, but Ive noticed since quitting IF my metabolism is not what it used to be. I've lost significant definition in my mid section and gain weight easier than I used to, even after becoming a vegetarian. I'm also getting old and am less active at work, so there's that.

I’ve just recently found your videos and I’m really finding it informative. I started IF this week beginning with the 16/8 fast 1st then I’ll work my way to the 20/4 fast. I have a question though would chewing on 1 sugar free chewing gum in the morning break my fast? I’m really concerned that I might not get the full benefits of fasting by having the piece of gum.

Can you talk about the differences between men and women while on intermittent fasting and the pottencial riscks of female infertility with the prolonged fast. I’m fasting 8/16 for about a week now and i’m feeling great, more alive then ever but i’m a little bit worried after doing some research on the topic. If you could clarify this to me would be great.

Currently eating for 1 hour per day since last Wednesday after daily 16:8 for a month, moving to 20:4 IF for 2 months & now been awesome. I was very apprehensive to start this because I was afraid of failing, but it's been amazing so far. I limit no foods. No calorie nor food restrictions. But, the body automatically desires healthy foods first! I lost another pound....total: 23 lbs since October. Energy is UP, weight is DOWN. It works.

I just want to say thank you! I started doing OMAD and wow!! What a difference! I eat at around 6:00, I can’t believe how easy it is for me! But besides losing 6 lbs in two weeks I’ve had very bad cluster headaches that even a neurologist couldn’t find the cause of. Since I started my fast they are almost gone completely!!! I do notice a head after eating certain foods such as pasta so I’m wondering if it’s a gluten allergy, bc I noticed if I stay Keto I don’t have a headache...anyway thank you and now I tell everyone about you and that they should sub to your channel. You’re the best! Thank you for keeping me motivated and sane! Lol xoxo

I'm 39 and have tried Keto, interment fasting, and exercising. I found I don't loose weight if I don't exercise. I cut out carbs and don't get too excercise much now because I go to school 3 nights a week. What can you recommend? I'm only eating veggies and meat, please help. Trying to loose 15 pounds. Thanks

I just came across your channel when looking into IF and your videos are so informative! I'm considering starting with the 16/8 because I think that would be the easiest schedule to stick to, just starting out. However, I haven't seen anything that says if it's more effective to break the fast earlier or later in the day, or if it even matters. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated!

I’m looking to water fast for 7 days, I’ve heard that’s you gain all that weight back and your metabolism will slow down but also heard other people say that you wouldn’t and your metabolism will increase which is tru ? Any advice on this or anybody know if this is true
