In india people are even ready to take loans to throw a wedding n weddings generally last anywhere between 3 to 5 days atleast...
10000 dollars is just nothing to do that...it's kind of sad becoz it's not a great financial move to take..💔

I come from a culture that spends tens of thousands (or even more) on weddings. My husband and I didn't value or want to do something like that. We had an intimate ceremony with our closest friends and family and spent around $210. Our venue was free, my parents gift to us was the catering, my aunt gifted us our cake, and I wore I dress I already owned. This was our choice and made the most sense to us. We just closed on our home and had renovations across properties so knew that the money was better spent elsewhere. Of course, to those that value and can afford it, do what makes you happy! That's what we did.

Definitely agreed and refused to go into debt for a wedding like a see so many friends do (or put their parents in debt).

Best decision we’ve made as a couple since now we’ve been able to have way more leverage and control in our life over our finances and be able to invest a lot of money last year. Used points for our honeymoon and plan to travel more in the upcoming year!

Also, the dollar amount goes up. My family weddings are easily 200+ guests on the smaller side. The cost is size of venue and amount of food. Not necessarily on luxuries but the per person cost is what puts them up there.

I agree that most weddings are pretty much for show. Why spend money for other people's enjoyment instead of your own lol? Our wedding cost $0, courthouse ceremony, I wore a cute little sundress I've had for years. But we balled out in Vegas for a week on our honeymoon, which was WAY worth the money because it was for us and not for anyone else.
