*Blurb*

"For sweep of narrative, comprehensive knowledge of its period and sheer entertainment, no other history of Victorian times can match A. N. Wilson’s epic ‘portrait of an age’. At the young, shy Victoria’s accession to the throne, men like Lord Melbourne and rising stars such as Disraeli and Gladstone had barely started debating the problems of poverty, population growth and parliamentary reform; by her final days, as the Boer War rumbled on in a mad scramble for gold and diamonds, Britain had changed beyond all recognition. The Victorian era witnessed ‘the most radical transformation ever seen by the world’ – in technology, politics, religion and the imperial impact of Britain on the rest of the globe. Wilson broaches key personalities and events of the age, from Dickens to Darwin, the Great Exhibition to Gilbert and Sullivan, the Indian Mutiny to the Irish potato famine, the Pre-Raphaelites to prostitution, and railways to Rider Haggard." I appreciate your honest critique of the flat binding as opposed to the rounded spine  Nevertheless, a beautiful book!

When I first saw The Victorians on Folio Society page I wanted to buy it because I was interested in its contents. But after your video, I'm in awe. The book is much prettier than what you see in the photos. It's a shame the binding isn't that good. Still... I want it.
Oh, and your videos are always amazing. Informative, honest and beautifuly done. Thank you.

A beautiful edition, it's a shame I'm not interested in the contents or it would be on my shelves as well. Wonderful work as always, Pontus.

Hey Pontus. I love your videos, you helped me discover folio society and as it's wonderfull to have books that are works of art in their editions.
I'm just wondering if you'll be reviewing the Folio Society Tolkien collection; LOTR, Hobbit, Silmarillion?
Cheers from New Zealand

This book is surprisingly hard to come by. Particularly in good condition. I finally managed to get a copy after 2 years searching.
