Ruger P95 DC Gun Review: USCCA Gun Vault

Показать описание
Last week we talked about the Ruger P89 DC, but this week we're looking at its newer and smaller cousin, the P95 DC. Which gun do you prefer?
Welcome to the USCCA's Gun Vault. Today, Kevin will be reviewing the Ruger P95 DC, one of the 30+ P-Series variations. This gun came out ten years after the P80 series in the middle of the Clinton assault weapons ban. At 28oz empty, it's still a little heavy for everyday carry, but it's 4oz lighter and 3/4in shorter than the P85.
Ruger took some of this weight out by shortening the barrel, but also by constructing the frame from a glass-filled polyurethane. This stuff is tough - no need for metal inserts.
Like all P-Series pistols, the P95 DC is built to last - tough, lightweight, and easy-to-clean
Built to military specifications, it's thick, double-stacked, and holds a 10-round magazine (but can fit 15). It's a comparable size to a Colt Commander pistol, and its decocking mechanism is similar to the Beretta G-Series - you don't need a manual safety because its spring-loaded lever decocks and immediately returns to firing position.
On the secondhand market you're looking at a price of only $250-$300, making it a great value, and a gun you certainly won't want to miss out on.
