the ULTIMATE engine management system for my Race Truck

We're completely changing eliminating our stock ECM and replacing it with the BEST IN THE BUSINESS. Today, UglyTruck and its new 1,500 horsepower big block will be controlled by a Holley Dominator ECU and wiring, so we're unboxing all the goodies! The reason we need a better EFI system is because the stock computer is a little outside its depth when it comes to controlling boost, traction control, and lack of safety features, but we're fixing all of that with a new engine management system that will dominate the competition, and keep our new 535 turbo big block operating properly!

Be sure to visit Holley for any parts you need for your LS, LT, Coyote, or pretty much any other engine!

You think we're gonna be able to get into the 8's with our new combo next spring? I'm pumped to reach a 10, but an 8 will be incredible!

I would also get an 8 cylinder EGT set up to tune cylinders individualy and the dominator is a great unit

I’d recommend getting the Holley running on the current engine first. Nothing like troubleshooting issues not knowing if it’s mechanical or electrical. And it’s a like hard to break in and engine properly when you’re trying to tune it.

It’ll go 9’s without a lot of effort. With the Holley hopefully you can get some built in safety shut downs programmed to save the engine. The boost by gear will be very helpful.Im thinking a good traction control program will be be huge as well. Maybe a boost scramble button. 😊

Really enjoy the way you present things. Keep up the good work! I cant fathom the budget you’re spending, but I’m old and don’t know YouTube economics! You’ve obviously worked hard to establish your skills, knowledge base and you are applying it well! I look forward to seeing how far you go with everything. Gonna help pass the winter up here in Ontario, Canada!

You can get a Bosch sensor which will read oil pressure and temperature in one
Also don't forget coolant pressure sensor :)

How about a coolant pressure sensor to monitor for excessive pressure like a head gasket issue? Then I’m thinking driveshaft speed sensor to go along with traction control system and torque converter analyzing. Maybe a crank case pressure sensor too be nice to keep tabs on that.

I have a 1997 GMC Suburban and I just built a 454 for it last year.
It's no slouch, but only about 400 HP with minor upgrades.
You are giving me all kinds of tempting ideas for some more power.
I am resisting so far but I dig following your progress.
Looking forward to you breaking into the 8 second range.

Most people shy away from wiring.
It's tedious and time consuming and for some sick reason I enjoy doing it.
Electricity is your friend.
Tidy wiring is essential and a pet peeve of mine.
Dunno how many sloppy wiring jobs I've seen and was tempted to grab a handful and yank it all out.

Thank you for this. I have been looking at this setup for a while for my future build..

Knocking on 100k subs. I am so happy for you, it is well earned. Some sponsor (Holley maybe) needs to get Ugly Truck at their booth next year at SEMA.

The weight reduction should get you that 10!! With the new Holley stuff a good 10, good luck man!!

A problem people noticed with dominators is: if you have disabled parts to the program. Ie traction control is turned off. Under the right circumstances it will reactivate. So keep your program as clean as you can.

Check this guy Taylor Ray out, he has the same setup on a turboed 427LS. He built it for drfting and he went thru and showed how he pinned everything out.

You're gonna love it, you should get with Joe Simpson on tuning.

When you start the wiring find some velcro cord wraps, they will work in place of tape and not be sticky plus easy to restick and adjust wires.

Can’t wait to see the Holley system assembled. I have a project that will leverage what I learned hear.
