I think the biggest problem is games take so long to develop now. You're not getting GTAIII, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas all in one console generation anymore.

I think the Golden Age of gaming has come and gone. I don't think we'll ever get back to the feel of the days of 1985 - 2010. Glad I was able to live through it... literally saw the rise and fall.

PS2, Dreamcast, Xbox, GameCube era was peak. Been a downhill slide ever since.

Yes, I miss plugg and play, put in a cartage and play. No uppdates, no installation, no servers, no online requirements.

And guys chill in the comments. In the end of the day you are just defending what platform you grew up with and games mostly. For me it was PC, Xbox 360, PS3, 3DS and PSP.

I havent even bought a 9th gen console and i can still SOMEHOW feel what owners are goibg through. This generation is THAT bad!!!

Back in the day, when a SNES game came out, the reason you wanted to buy a SNES console was because they were newer, bigger games that the original NES couldn't play. The games required a new system. But now, the consoles are so powerful that you can still make games for the PS4 all day long and there is no reason to buy a PS5.

You have to make games that run exclusively on the new hardware so that people will buy the new hardware. The experience is supposed to be something such that if you are playing a PS5 game, then that game can't run on a PS4.

This IS the worst and honestly I cant see it getting any better. These companies and some developers are greedy af! They forgot what it was like to create and put out a COMPLETE game without all the micro transactions, etc. Bring a system back with cartridges so we can feel like we own what we purchase or just physical media and not straight digital. This generation got gaming down bad bro!

The marketing around Ps5 was absolutely awful. It should've been released after the pandemic like a year or two. I bought it to play spiderman 2 and FF7 REBIRTH. Now that I'm done, i dunno what to play with

This generation doesn't feel like next gen. Ps3 to ps4 was mind blowing in terms of graphic fidelity.

I'm always thankful of being a Nintendo fan growing up till this day, cause if it wasn't for Switch I'd be giving up on games industry entirely. I know the company isn't perfect with many issue, but they still bring the quality games for most part and I love their hands-off approach with censorship on more niche anime content unlike current day Sony and Xbox :-)
